The "Iskander" complex's ballistic missile can be equipped with a cluster warhead, which, after separating from the carrier, releases dozens of individual damaging elements. This design allows for a large impact area on the target due to the simultaneous use of several warheads.

Iskander submunitions exist in several variants. Depending on the version, they can use fragmentation, cumulative, or thermobaric elements designed to hit different types of targets.

One cluster contains up to 54 warheads. After separation at an altitude of about 900–1400 meters, they are distributed over a given area and can use built-in control systems, including a radio altimeter and a laser rangefinder, to correct their trajectory.

In addition to strike variants, cluster warheads with remote mining capabilities have been developed for the complex.

Earlier, "Perviy Tekhnicheskiy" reported on the aeroballistic missiles of the "Iskander-M", which underwent modernization: the "Vysokotochnye Kompleksy" holding increased the accuracy of the 9M723 missile, used in combat conditions.
