Inventor Alexander Gurulev has received a patent for a utility model of a catapult for aircraft, according to a publication in the Rospatent database. The device is designed for launching drones and other flying objects from confined spaces.
The catapult includes a carriage, torsion springs, locks, a launch hook, a body, and a cocking mechanism. The main difference from existing spring catapults is a design that eliminates power loss during acceleration.
