A buyer has been found for the assets of the bankrupt TV manufacturer "Kvant." NexTouch, a company that produces interactive school whiteboards, has confirmed its intention to purchase the enterprise's production facilities, Kommersant reports.

"Kvant" was the only Russian TV manufacturer included in the register of domestic radio electronics of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. However, in the spring of 2025, the company stopped producing TVs under the Irbis brand due to lack of demand: Russian equipment turned out to be more expensive than Chinese. In one year, revenue plummeted from 4.9 billion to 45 million rubles, and profit turned into a loss of 387 million rubles.

In August 2026, the Moscow Arbitration Court declared "Kvant" bankrupt on the claim of "DNS Retail" — a structure of the DNS group, to which the company owed more than 650 million rubles. 24 creditors participated in the case, including Yandex structures.

NexTouch stated that the bankruptcy does not change their plans to acquire facilities and retain the professional team. The company believes that the bankruptcy procedure can simplify and accelerate the launch of production. Market participants estimate the deal at 1–1.5 billion rubles.

Earlier, in the summer of 2025, Sber and Yandex also claimed "Kvant" assets, and the company was valued at 3 billion rubles excluding debts. The Ministry of Industry and Trade stated that bankruptcy does not mean loss of capacity — NexTouch liquid crystal module production for TV assembly has already been launched in Moscow.

In the summer of 2024, Chinese TCL stopped supplying components to "Kvant" due to the threat of secondary sanctions, and Xiaomi did so back in 2022. At the same time, the transfer of part of the production to Kazakhstan was discussed.

Pervy Tekhnichesky reported on how Russian TV manufacturers tried to get into the Ministry of Industry and Trade register to receive preferences in public procurement — however, the requirements for the share of domestic components proved difficult to achieve due to dependence on imported matrices.
