The universal supersonic anti-ship missile P-800 "Oniks" (developed by the NPO Mashinostroyeniya) is practically elusive for air defense (AD) systems. This was stated by the press service of the Pacific Fleet.
The Pacific Fleet emphasized that the "Oniks" missile moves towards its target 2.5 times faster than the speed of sound and can disable a ship of any displacement at a distance of several hundred kilometers.
The BRK "Bastion" with "Oniks" anti-ship missiles allows creating exclusion zones in the coastal waters of the Far Eastern seas.
The deployment of coastal complexes takes several minutes, the Pacific Fleet concluded.

The P-800 "Oniks" has been under development since the 1970s. The missiles are produced at the "Strela" Production Association (PO) in Orenburg. Its advantages include autonomy (the "fire and forget" principle), high supersonic speeds at all stages of flight, and effectiveness in conditions of enemy electronic countermeasures.
