Bastion coastal defense missile systems (CDMS) with supersonic anti-ship Onyx missiles make it possible to create access restriction and maneuver zones in the Arctic. This was stated in the Northern Fleet.
The press service clarified that complexes with Onyx missiles help protect territories of significant length. The deployment of Onyx missiles to combat positions takes only a few minutes.
The self-guided cruise missile moves towards the target 2.5 times faster than the speed of sound and is practically elusive for modern air defense and anti-missile defense systems.
Onyx is capable of disabling a warship of any displacement at a distance of several hundred kilometers.
Characteristics of the P-800 Onyx:
- Onyx diameter - 0.67 meters
- Wingspan - 1.7 m
- Starting missile weight - 3000 kg, with transport and launch container (TLC) - 3900 kg
- Warhead weight - 300 kg
