The Russian UTS-800 training aircraft, equipped with the VK-800SP turboprop engine, promises to reduce pilot training costs. According to the developers, the cost of one flight hour of this aircraft will be less than that of jet counterparts. This will allow aviation educational institutions to expand their cadet training programs without increasing expenses.
The aircraft was developed by the Ural Civil Aviation Design Bureau (UZGA). The UTS-800 design uses the domestic VK-800SP power plant, created for light multi-purpose and training aircraft.
The UTS-800 is equipped with a modern "glass cockpit" with digital displays, an air conditioning system, and lightweight ejection seats that provide the ability to exit the aircraft even in an emergency situation with minimal altitude.
The aircraft's flight and navigation complex can be adapted to customer requirements, which allows the UTS-800 to be used in various pilot training programs.
The aircraft uses domestic composite materials, components, and software. This reduces dependence on foreign suppliers and simplifies further maintenance of the equipment.
The UTS-800 is positioned as a modern platform for initial pilot training, where the main focus is on combining low operating costs, safety, and the possibility of long-term use in training centers.
