The production of equipment for hydroelectric power plants in Russia has been fully booked for the coming years – the capacities of "Silovye Mashiny" for the production of hydraulic equipment are scheduled until 2027. The company is currently manufacturing new hydraulic units for the Nizhny Novgorod and Chirkey HPPs, and is also participating in the preparation of future hydropower development projects.

According to Vladimir Demyanov, Deputy General Director of "Silovye Mashiny", over the past 15 years, the company has been engaged in a large-scale modernization of existing Russian HPPs as part of the "RusHydro" equipment renewal program. This stage is almost complete, and now the main demand is formed by new facilities and the expansion of hydropower.

The production capabilities of the enterprise allow for the annual production of up to 10 sets of equipment for HPPs with a total capacity of up to 2 GW. The product line includes hydroturbines and generators with a capacity of 30 to 640 MW, as well as automatic control systems.

According to the General Scheme for the Placement of Electric Power Facilities until 2042, Russia plans to build seven new HPPs and four pumped-storage power plants with a total capacity of 6.7 GW. These projects will require 37 new hydraulic units, the first commissioning of which is scheduled for 2031–2032.
