The Russian robotic system "Courier" has gained new capabilities – the machine has been equipped with a laser system for remote disposal of ammunition and an updated aiming system for combating drones.

The laser system allows affecting the body of a mine, grenade, or other explosive object, heating and destroying it without detonating. This approach reduces risks for sappers and is especially important when working in densely built-up areas where the use of traditional detonation can lead to additional destruction.

During the demonstration, the developers showed samples of neutralized ammunition, as well as a test object with a burned ceramic layer of approximately ten centimeters, which confirmed the capabilities of the high-energy laser system.

In addition to engineering equipment, the "Courier" received a modernized combat module for combating drones. It includes an optical camera, a thermal imaging channel, a rangefinder, and a target tracking system.

After detecting an aerial object, the system can keep the target in sight, reducing the operator's workload. A remotely controlled turret with machine gun armament is used to engage drones.

The developers note that the updated system expands the tasks of the robotic platform: now the "Courier" can perform not only reconnaissance and fire support, but also operations to neutralize dangerous objects with minimal risk to people.
