The second experimental modernized Yak-130M combat trainer aircraft completed its first flight at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant. The tests were successful: all onboard systems operated normally, and the crew fully completed the flight program.

The aircraft was piloted by Honored Test Pilot Andrey Voropaev and Test Pilot Alexander Guskov. Previously, specialists reported to the country's leadership on the progress of the first stage of the program's tests and the capabilities of the new Yak-130M version.

The modernized aircraft received updated onboard systems that expand its application. The Yak-130M can be used as a training aircraft for pilot preparation and as a light combat aircraft capable of performing missions against ground and air targets in various weather conditions and at any time of day.

The development aims to enhance the capabilities of the Yak-130 platform through new equipment and an expanded range of tasks. In its modernized version, the aircraft received improved detection and weapon application systems, allowing it to be used against a wide range of targets, including large unmanned aerial vehicles.

The production and testing of the aircraft are taking place at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant, which is part of the Yakovlev Corporation of the United Aircraft Corporation.
