On July 24, 2026, Hero of Russia, cosmonaut Oleg Artemyev completed his work in the Roscosmos cosmonaut corps. He has three space flights – in 2014, 2018, and 2022 – and eight spacewalks with a total duration of 53 hours and 32 minutes.

Oleg Artemyev is the 118th cosmonaut of Russia. In May 2003, he was enrolled in the RKK "Energia" squad, spent two years undergoing general space training at the GCTC, after which he received the qualification of "test cosmonaut". He was born on December 28, 1970, in Riga, and graduated from Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

During three flights, Artemyev spent 560 days in orbit – almost a year and a half, and performed eight spacewalks: a total of 53 hours and 32 minutes. He is currently a deputy of the Moscow City Duma and president of the Association of Cosmonautics Museums.

On July 31, 2026, the 127th cosmonaut of Russia, Hero of Russia Sergey Korsakov, also completed his work at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center. In 2022, he made a space flight lasting 195 days – on "Soyuz MS-21" together with Oleg Artemyev. Korsakov was born on September 1, 1984, in Frunze (now Bishkek), graduated with honors from Bauman Moscow State Technical University with a degree in "rocket engines", and joined the squad through the first open competition in 2012.

Korsakov filmed the world's first music video in zero gravity. For a duet with the band Uma2rman, the cosmonaut was allowed to take an electric guitar to the ISS.

Interesting fact: Artemyev and Korsakov are among the three cosmonauts (along with Denis Matveev) who, in March 2022, launched to the ISS with an all-Russian crew, all of whom are graduates of Bauman Moscow State Technical University.
