In the second quarter of 2026, AO "Kama" sold one "Atom" electric car to an individual. Another 16 cars were registered with the traffic police to a single legal entity – the development company itself, writes the Telegram channel "Avtovoz". One of these 16 cars was produced in 2025, the rest are of fresh assembly.

Presumably, "Kama" bought back its own electric vehicles to identify and eliminate "teething problems" before mass sales. Sales were announced on July 17, but the brand did not form a dealer network – only a network of authorized service stations, whose addresses are not yet listed on the official website.

"Atom" is assembled at the "Moskvich" plant using a full cycle, including body welding. Body panels and pre-welded components are currently supplied from China. According to "Avtovoz", initially, there was an agreement to produce 8 thousand cars for 2026, then the plan was reduced to 5 thousand, and later – to 3 thousand. The minimum output, according to estimates, could be 516 cars.

The project, according to observers, has faced difficulties: a high price (3.9 million rubles, with state subsidy – 2.975 million) and lack of demand against the backdrop of cheaper Chinese counterparts cast doubt on its commercial success. However, in early 2026, the project received a loan of 24 billion rubles to launch serial production.
