United Engine Corporation continues to improve the domestic high-power gas turbine GTD-110M. The new modernization program provides for an increase in the engine's service life to 125 thousand equivalent hours, a significant reduction in emissions, and a decrease in maintenance time.

The work is being carried out by specialists from ODK-Saturn, where the GTD-110M was developed and is manufactured. The corporation reported that the main focus is currently on improving the operational characteristics of the power plant.

Engineers are working to reduce exhaust gas emissions by 6–8 times, while simultaneously increasing the engine's assigned service life. In parallel, new design solutions are being implemented that will reduce the duration of scheduled maintenance and major overhauls.

The GTD-110M is the first serial Russian high-power gas turbine for the energy sector. Its further modernization should expand the possibilities for using domestic equipment at new and existing energy facilities.

Earlier, "Pervy Tekhnichesky" reported that the fourth serial GTD-110M gas turbine successfully completed bench tests with full power output to the grid. During the tests, the unit operated continuously for three days, demonstrating the stability of key parameters at maximum load.
