Enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex (MIC) fully cover the needs of the army and navy. Since 2022, production volumes for some items have increased by more than 20 times, said Anton Alikhanov, head of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
If we talk about the production of complex products, such as anti-aircraft guided missiles (SAMs), we are increasing their production many times over this year compared to last year.
The authorities are implementing a large program for the development of the military-industrial complex, Alikhanov added. Within its framework, innovative developments are being carried out, and new drones are being created.
According to the minister, drones in Russia "are made by the millions," and production capacities are designed "for tens of millions." At the same time, manufacturers maintain contact with military personnel. Representatives of Rostec, Rosatom, and other corporations take into account the advice of soldiers when refining their products.
Alikhanov emphasized that in addition to means of attack, means of defense must be developed. In this case, we are talking about air defense systems and interceptor drones. Developers of these systems receive support from the state.
They all have technical specifications set, and they themselves come up with initiatives and developments.
Russia has a whole line of laser systems to combat enemy drones. This saves on anti-aircraft guided missiles, which would cost "hundreds of millions of dollars." Laser air defense systems will help abandon SAMs, so it is important to develop them, Alikhanov concluded.
