Volga-Dnepr Airlines transported over 80 tons of industrial equipment from Istanbul to Chita on an An-124-100 aircraft. The cargo was manufactured at a Turkish factory for a mining enterprise in Zabaykalsky Krai.

The airline clarified that the delivered units are intended for installation on flotation machines used to extract valuable components from ore. Logisticians ensured terminal handling of the cargo in Istanbul and its transportation by road from Chita airport to a hard-to-reach area. The entire transportation cycle from the factory to the installation site took eight days.

The An-124-100 "Ruslan" is the world's largest production cargo aircraft, developed by the O.K. Antonov Design Bureau. It can carry up to 120 tons of cargo (in the An-124-150 modification – up to 150 tons) over a distance of up to 4800 km at maximum load. The cargo compartment dimensions are 36.5 meters in length, 6.4 meters in width, and 4.4 meters in height. This allows for the transportation of oversized cargo – from turbines and locomotives to spacecraft. The aircraft is equipped with four D-18T turbofan engines, develops a cruising speed of up to 850 km/h, and can perform loading through the nose and tail hatches without special airfield equipment. The "Ruslan" is rightfully considered a world leader in the market for transporting super-heavy and unique cargo.
