The new AT-Gonets (URM-D2) satellite modem has successfully completed tests in Moscow, confirming stable data transmission even after a complete power outage. The device was tested by specialists from the Gonets Satellite System company, part of Roscosmos, together with STEKCOM.

During the tests, engineers repeatedly disconnected the modem from power, after which the device automatically resumed operation without data loss. Data transmission was performed in packets ranging from 10 bytes to 20 kilobytes, with all messages delivered completely and without errors.

One of the main features of the new development is its dimensions. Compared to the previous generation, the modem turned out to be about six times more compact, which significantly simplifies its integration into various equipment and industrial machinery.

The device is designed to operate in satellite IoT networks and provides data exchange in areas where there is no cellular coverage.

The developers announced that the next stage will be the launch of mass production. At the same time, work is underway to transition from session-based data transmission to continuous information exchange and expand the line of satellite terminals. The project was implemented as part of Roscosmos's cooperation with private business.
