Andrey Khokhlov, a resident of Bryansk who participated in the development of the game "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.", created his own computer game set in the village of Khotylyovo. The idea for the project was born after participating in expeditions to restore the ancient estate of the Tenishevs, patrons of art, which at the turn of the 19th-20th centuries was a center of cultural life – Ilya Repin and Mikhail Vrubel were guests here.
According to the developer, after working on "S.T.A.L.K.E.R.", he wanted to create something similar in his native places. He was inspired by trips to Chernobyl and Pripyat, where he became convinced that games based on real locations with a rich history have enormous potential.
Initially, Khokhlov planned to create only a 3D presentation of the estate in its former glory, possibly for VR glasses. However, after communicating with local residents and learning about numerous legends and traditions, the concept changed. As a result, a horror-survival game emerged.
Khokhlov recreated the appearance of the estate, the church, and other locations: an arched bridge in the forest, the dilapidated pioneer camp "Zvyozdochka". The game world is inhabited by creatures from Slavic mythology and portals of the Interworld. A demo version will soon be available for free access. It will be free but abridged. The developer needs sponsor support to create the full version.
