Drivers who received fines for waiting for fuel at gas stations in another region will not be able to cancel the decision through the local State Traffic Inspectorate unit. The complaint will still be sent to where the violation was recorded, explained lawyer Olga Shushmintseva.
According to her, the most convenient way to dispute a fine from cameras is to file a complaint through the "Gosuslugi Auto" application. This can be done within 10 days after receiving the decision.
This option is especially relevant for motorists who live in one region but received a violation in another.
The Code of Administrative Offenses does not provide for the possibility of contacting the State Traffic Inspectorate unit in the region of residence to cancel a fine received outside its borders. In such a case, the complaint will be redirected to the official and to the unit authorized to consider it.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced that the State Traffic Inspectorate would cancel decisions on fines for parking under the sign "No Stopping" if the car was in line at a gas station due to waiting for refueling.
