In Lipetsk, a local resident developed a cyclic complex for distilling used oil. The output is not furnace fuel, but a clean diesel fraction. The mini-plant is based on a vertical tank with a volume of 3,000 liters, a full-fledged rectification column, and an automation cabinet.
According to calculations, in one cycle, which lasts about 10 hours, 1800 liters of waste oil can be poured in, yielding up to 1500 liters of finished diesel fuel and only a hundred kilograms of fuel oil as residue.
Dual-circuit cooling allows the oil itself to be used in the process, reducing the time of the next distillation to 8 hours. The cost of purification is about 3-4 thousand rubles per ton.
Unlike capricious flow-through analogues, the Lipetsk unit hardly cokes, and the maintenance of the fire tubes takes only 15 minutes. If working every other day, the production volume will be up to 16 cubic meters of diesel per month.
We emphasize that such a complex in a “homemade” form is illegal. It can only be legally operated by transforming the project into an official, licensed enterprise.
The purity of such diesel is also questionable. Homemade fuel usually burns slower and unevenly. This will cause detonation, carbon deposits on the pistons, coking of the rings, and, as a result, burnt valves or engine seizure if you try to refuel your car.
