Rostec is preparing to introduce a new road roller with an automatic control system to the civilian market. The start of deliveries was announced by the CEO of the state corporation, Sergey Chemezov, during a meeting with Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to him, the "High-Precision Systems" holding, which, in addition to producing high-tech products, is engaged in the production of road construction equipment, has completed the development of a machine with an autopilot. The roller is capable of performing work without constant human involvement, operating around the clock, and maintaining movement accuracy up to 2 cm.
Rostec noted that the equipment is already ready for delivery to construction companies. The use of automated control should increase the productivity of road works, reduce the influence of the human factor, and ensure more stable quality of pavement laying.
Automation of road construction equipment is considered one of the key areas of industry development. Machines with autopilot systems are capable of moving independently along a pre-set route using satellite navigation and positioning sensors. This allows for increased accuracy of work, reduced errors associated with the human factor, and the use of equipment almost without breaks, including in the construction of large infrastructure facilities.
