The Russian interceptor drone "Lis" has received an artificial intelligence system that allows it to automatically hold and continuously track an aerial target for a long time. The capabilities of the device were described by the head of the interceptor crew of the "Bulat" special battalion, call sign Phil.

According to him, after target acquisition, the operator only needs to confirm tracking, and further pursuit is performed automatically. Thanks to the auto-acquisition system, the drone can track an actively maneuvering target for up to 30 minutes, adjusting its flight path without constant human intervention.

The military noted that the algorithms allow the device to maintain tracking even with sharp changes in the target's course and altitude. If the object tries to evade pursuit, the drone automatically reconfigures its route and continues to close in until the task is completed.

Phil also said that modern aerial threats increasingly use complex schemes with false targets. According to him, crews have to react to every detected device, as its purpose cannot be determined in advance.

The "Lis" interceptor was developed by Russian engineers. It is a compact aircraft-type drone equipped with an automatic target acquisition system, artificial intelligence elements, and a warhead weighing about one kilogram.
