The Russian government has increased funding for the preferential leasing program for domestic aircraft by an additional 126.15 billion rubles and simultaneously postponed the delivery dates of aircraft to 2026–2029. The corresponding changes have been approved by a government decree.
The main part of the additional funding — 115.3 billion rubles — is directed to the program for the delivery of 63 Russian aircraft. After revising the parameters, the total limit of funds from the National Wealth Fund for this project increased from 175.4 billion to 290.7 billion rubles.
The terms of the program's implementation have also changed. While Aeroflot was previously designated as its main recipient, aircraft will now be leased to "Russian airlines." The project provides for the delivery of 18 medium-haul MC-21s, 34 regional SJ-100s, and 11 Tu-214 aircraft.
Additionally, the government increased funding for another program — for the Far Eastern airline Aurora. The amount of funds from the National Wealth Fund increased by 10.85 billion rubles, reaching 60.45 billion rubles.
Under this program, 37 aircraft are planned to be transferred to the carrier in 2026–2029. These include eight SJ-100 aircraft, ten Baikal light aircraft, and 19 Mi-171A3 helicopters.
The adjustment of delivery dates reflects the updated schedule for the production of domestic aviation equipment. At the same time, increased funding will allow maintaining the scale of the Russian airlines' fleet renewal program and ensuring the purchase of new Russian-made aircraft and helicopters.
