The first technical details of the new Russian Geran-4 Seeker drone have been published. According to the information, the device is equipped with a turbofan engine, a machine vision system, and is capable of destroying ground targets at significant distances.
As it became known, the maximum flight range of the drone reaches 550 kilometers. The cruising speed is about 300 kilometers per hour, and the warhead mass is 50 kilograms. Thanks to the turbofan propulsion system, the device has a higher speed compared to drones of a similar class.
One of the key features of the new version is the machine vision equipment. It allows the drone to independently recognize and track ground targets in the final flight segment, increasing accuracy even in difficult conditions.
The development of the Geran family reflects the general trend towards increasing the autonomy of this type of attack drones. Modern guidance systems, including machine vision elements, reduce dependence on external control and increase the effectiveness of operations against predetermined objects.
Earlier, military expert Yuri Knutov reported that the new Russian attack drone Geran-4 Seeker is capable of flying at an altitude of up to 5 km.
