Nizhny Novgorod Scientific Institute "Burevestnik" has proposed a new drone defense scheme capable of automatically repelling even massive attacks. The development is intended for both military and civilian objects, including factories and critical infrastructure.
The main feature of the system is the automatic distribution of targets among several fire modules. After detecting a drone with a surveillance radar, the complex determines its coordinates, then assesses which of the combat modules can open fire fastest. The system transmits the target to it without operator intervention.
The complex includes a surveillance radar station, tracking radars, optoelectronic systems, a control post, and launchers with missile or artillery weapons.
If the first interception attempt fails, the complex automatically corrects the tracking and performs a repeat attack. The algorithm will simultaneously distribute many air targets among all combat modules, which is especially important when repelling drone swarm attacks.
