53 Russian turbines have operated for 1.5 million hours in the harshest conditions

ODK gas turbine units have been providing energy to fields and remote industrial facilities for over 20 years

GTES-2.5 gas turbine power plants manufactured by United Engine Corporation (ODK) have crossed an important milestone – their total operating time has exceeded 1.5 million hours. This result has been achieved since the units began operation in 2003.

The turbines provide electricity and heat to oil and gas fields, large shift camps, and remote industrial facilities where there is no centralized power supply. The units are designed to operate in extreme conditions – down to –60 °C.

The unit is based on the DO49R gas turbine engine manufactured by ODK-Saturn. The units are capable of operating not only on natural gas but also on associated petroleum gas and diesel fuel.

In addition to the Russian regions of the Far North and Siberia, the equipment is also operated at gas fields in the Karakum Desert in Turkmenistan.

A modern testing facility allows each unit to be tested under full load at the factory, which almost halves the time required to commission the equipment.
