Russian S-400 "Triumf" anti-aircraft missile systems have become the basis of India's air defense system. This was stated by the Director of the Center for Strategic Studies and Modeling of the United Institute for Defense Studies of India, retired Major General Rakesh Bhadauria.
According to him, Russian equipment still occupies a key place in the Indian armed forces. Although the share of purchases from Russia has decreased in recent years, the S-400 remains the main element of the national air defense system.
Even now, the basis of our air defense is the S-400, which has proven its effectiveness.
Bhadauria noted the high level of military cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi. He recalled that the Russian-Indian RELOS agreement, providing for mutual logistical support for the armed forces of the two countries, recently came into force.
