16 Steam Generators for 4 Units: Rosatom Completes Deliveries to Akkuyu NPP

The final set of four steam generators for Unit No. 4 has been delivered to the construction site of the Akkuyu NPP. The equipment was shipped by the Atommash plant in Volgodonsk, part of Rosatom's Machine-Building Division, the state corporation reported.

The products covered a sea route of about 3000 km. For the four power units of the plant, Atommash manufactured 16 steam generators – each designed to operate in conjunction with a VVER-1200 reactor for the entire service life of the unit. The total mass of the main equipment produced for Akkuyu exceeded 7000 tons and also includes reactor vessels.

Meeting the demand for steam generators moves the project into the intensive installation phase of the primary circuit. Akkuyu NPP is the first nuclear power plant built by Russia under the Build-Own-Operate model abroad. Reactor units of this type are already operating at Leningrad NPP-2 and Belarusian NPP, confirming the resource and reliability of Russian Generation "1200" technologies.
