Developer of Tu-160M "White Swan" to Leave Moscow

PAO "Tupolev" will change its legal address from Moscow to Kazan. The central design bureau in the capital will be transformed into a branch.

The company announced that the process will be completed after the necessary corporate procedures. With only a change of legal address, no significant changes will occur.

However, the relocation of the design team and the main test facility could seriously affect the bureau's work. It is likely that the developer's complex of buildings on Academician Tupolev Embankment in Moscow will now be sold.

The change of registration comes amid difficulties with the production of Tu-214 aircraft at the Kazan Aviation Plant. The plan envisages the production of four aircraft in 2026, but only one has actually been built.
