AvtoVAZ showed how X-rays reveal hidden defects in Lada parts before car assembly

The complex can detect malfunctions and defects in products up to 0.1 mm in size

AvtoVAZ demonstrated the operation of its X-ray inspection complex, which allows for the detection of hidden manufacturing defects in parts even before they are installed in vehicles. The company showed how specialists check key components of engines and other units using specialized equipment.

At the enterprise, X-ray inspection is used to check cast iron and aluminum parts whose internal condition cannot be assessed by conventional inspection. Cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, crankcases, crankshafts, and other critical elements of power units undergo these inspections.

Samples arrive at the laboratory after each metal melt. In addition, defectoscopists conduct research on components intended for the company's promising projects.

According to AvtoVAZ, the modern complex can detect internal defects up to 0.1 millimeters in size. Such accuracy helps identify potential problems at the production stage, before car assembly begins.

The company reported that X-ray inspection is applied to more than 150 types of parts. This allows for timely rejection of components with hidden defects and helps maintain the stable quality of manufactured vehicles.
