One Project 885M "Yasen-M" submarine is built in Russia in an average of eight years. This pace is equal to the level of American industry, where submarines are built in the same period, but with much better funding.
The publication "Tekhnosfera Rossiya" noted that the level of the domestic military-industrial complex also surpassed the speed of submarine construction in Great Britain and France. There, a submarine is "born" in 10 and 13 years, respectively.
Only China is faster (5–7 years), but it's not certain that the quality is as good.
A few days ago, at Sevmash in the Arkhangelsk region, a new Project 885M "Yasen-M" submarine cruiser – "Murmansk" – was laid down. According to calculations, the Navy should receive it no later than 2034.
Currently, four Project "Yasen-M" submarines are in service – "Kazan", "Novosibirsk", "Krasnoyarsk", and "Arkhangelsk". All of them carry "Kalibr", "Oniks", and "Tsirkon" missiles.
