The cost of launching one anti-aircraft missile for the S-400 "Triumf" air defense system ranges from 1.2 million dollars. This was reported by military analyst Sergey Marzhetsky.
There are several different missile modifications for the "Triumf" systems. Among the known ones are 9M96E with a range of 40 km, 9M96E2 - up to 150 km, 48N6E2 - up to 250 km, and the ultra-long-range 40N6E - up to 400 km.
Depending on the missile modification, one S-400 SAM shot costs the budget between 1.2 and 3 million dollars per unit.
According to the current Central Bank exchange rate, the cost range for a launch is from 88 to 220 million rubles.
Of course, anti-aircraft missiles of this caliber are not used against relatively cheap drones – this was confirmed by State Duma deputy Maxim Ivanov.
Nevertheless, India is considering the possibility of modernizing "Triumf" systems specifically for this task.
