Modern aircraft engines require such precision in manufacturing parts that humans can no longer provide manually. The role of numerically controlled machines has greatly increased, said Sergey Guzhva, CEO of Avbis company.
According to him, many still perceive CNC machines as highly specialized equipment for factories. However, it is on such complexes that aircraft engine parts and power turbines are manufactured today.
Aircraft turbine blades operate at colossal temperatures and loads. The slightest deviation in geometry can sharply reduce the engine's lifespan. For some parts, the tolerance is literally measured in microns, and any processing error can result in vibration, overheating, and destruction of the assembly at enormous operating speeds.
Therefore, the development of domestic machine tool building today is directly linked to the country's technological independence. A modern machine tool has long ceased to be just equipment for metal processing and has become the foundation of the entire industrial chain.
Earlier, Rostec proposed to form a new category of technical specialists – pre-engineers in Russia. By 2036, such employees could make up to 30% of the total workforce.
