KMZ Completes Complex Overhaul of D-336-2T Gas Turbine Engine

Further tests will confirm its service life, reliability, and readiness for operation

KMZ has completed a complex overhaul of the D-336-2T gas turbine engine, fully restoring the unit after disassembly, detailed defect detection of components, replacement of worn parts, and subsequent assembly. The engine has now been transferred to the final stage of preparation for bench tests, which will take place at the engineering division of "Dieselzipservice".

The engine is currently undergoing final preparation for bench testing. The unit is being mounted on the test rig, fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems are being connected, and control and measuring equipment is being installed.

A key stage is the setup of the automated control system. It will ensure continuous recording of engine operating parameters – from temperature regimes and vibrations to fuel consumption and output power under various loads.

Bench tests will be the final confirmation of the quality of the performed repair and will determine the service life of the restored engine before its return to operation. Based on the test results, a complete package of technical documentation will be formed, including measurement protocols and a conclusion on the reliability of the unit.
