The Ulyanovsk enterprise "Aviastar" has put the heavy military transport aircraft Il-76MD-90A into serial production. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.
The Cabinet of Ministers emphasized that the Il-76 series aircraft are being built serially.
Repair and maintenance of aircraft, including super-heavy An-124s, are underway. Aviastar also participates in the production of Il-114-300 and MS-21 passenger aircraft as part of cooperation.
The head of the Ulyanovsk region, Alexey Russkikh, noted that Aviastar was instructed to increase production. For this purpose, new robotic machines were introduced at the plant.
The head of OAK, Vadim Badeha, stated that there was huge interest from foreign customers in the Il-76MD-90A. He did not specify which ones.
