Beeline has allowed online registration for porting to its network, even if the person already lives in a different region. For example, a subscriber moved from St. Petersburg to Moscow but wants to keep their St. Petersburg number and port it to Beeline. Now, they can arrange such a port while in the capital.
Previously, this option was only available to eSIM owners or in cases where the region of residence matched the region where the number was issued. Customers with a regular physical SIM card did not have this option.
Now the process has been simplified. The customer visits the operator's website, specifies their actual location and the number of another operator they wish to port.
The system warns that the tariff will be applied according to the region of the ported number. That is, if a person is in Moscow but ports a St. Petersburg number, the SIM card will be charged at St. Petersburg rates.
After submitting an online application, the user still needs to visit a Beeline office to receive the SIM card.
The new option is a preparation for full-fledged interregional number porting, which is expected to launch in Russia on September 1, 2026. After the new system is launched, subscribers will be able to change not only the operator but also the regional binding of the number.
