The domestic aircraft industry will have to spend at least 20 years to bring the MS-21 to the market as a full-fledged production liner. This opinion was expressed by a 1st class pilot, former Aeroflot pilot Andrey Litvinov.
He agreed with the statement that the industry needs to be developed, but recalled that in the last 30 years, civil aviation has practically not developed.
Now they want to catch up – they decided to build a plane in 5 years? That doesn't happen. That's why I always openly said: it will take at least 20 years. It will be very good if they fully provide our airlines with aircraft in 20 years.
Litvinov also noted that it would take several months to train flight crews to work on import-substituted MS-21-310 liners, so training needs to start now.
Test pilot of PAO "Yakovlev" Oleg Mutovin stated that Russian aircraft manufacturers have surpassed the whole world in competencies in creating the MS-21 aircraft. It was built entirely on domestic components – no other country can boast of this.
