OSK showcased Project 22460E patrol ship capable of breaking ice and ramming

The vessel received a helicopter pad for Ka-226 and a slip for boats; the crew is reduced due to automation

The United Shipbuilding Corporation (OSK) presented the Project 22460E patrol ship at the International Maritime Defense Show "FLOT-2026". As reported by the OSK press service, the project was developed by the Northern Design Bureau. The integrated control system allowed for a radical reduction in crew size.

The stern of the ship is equipped with a helipad designed for a light Ka-226 helicopter or a helicopter-type UAV. There is also a multifunctional hangar with a stern slip, capable of accommodating high-speed rigid-hulled inflatable boats or special equipment. This architecture significantly expands the functionality of a small patrol ship: search, rescue operations, inspection.

The robust steel hull is designed for operation in thin and broken ice and allows the mission to be performed even after a collision with an intruder vessel. According to OSK, ships of this type have already undergone many years of rigorous testing and confirmed their stated characteristics.

In fact, the project covers several niches at once: from patrolling to rescue missions, and in any climatic conditions – from the equator to the Arctic.
