Within the framework of the International Maritime Defense Show "FLOT-2026", an export project of the Project 22160 patrol surface ship with modular weapon architecture was presented. The development was carried out by the Severnoe Design Bureau with the participation of the United Shipbuilding Corporation.
The new ship concept focuses on a flexible combat configuration: some weapon systems are integrated at the construction stage and remain unchanged throughout service, while reserve volumes and mounting locations are provided for additional tasks, allowing modernization without extensive hull reconstruction. This solution enhances the platform's adaptability for various scenarios – from patrol duties to strengthening combat capabilities during updates.
Special emphasis is placed on seaworthiness and reduced visibility, as well as an expanded aviation component: the ship is designed for the operation of helicopters and unmanned aerial vehicles of various classes. The export version of the project is positioned as a versatile and relatively economical platform with enhanced functionality and the ability to base aviation on board.
The corporation notes that the project is aimed at increasing the flexibility of surface forces and simplifying future fleet modernization without taking the ship out of service for long periods.
