Accident at "Titanium Investments" Chemical Plant in Crimea

Mobile laboratories did not detect excess harmful substances

A fire broke out at the "Titanium Investments" chemical plant (formerly "Krymsky Titan") in Armyansk on the night of June 13. According to the head of the city administration, all emergency services and mobile laboratories are working on site. No exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations of harmful substances have been recorded.

The NASA FIRMS fire monitoring service confirmed the presence of several fire sources in the vicinity of the enterprise. Residents of Armyansk complained about the smell of sulfur and burning in Telegram channels.

The "Titanium Investments" plant is the largest producer of titanium dioxide in Eastern Europe, which is used as a white pigment in the paint and varnish, paper, and polymer industries. The enterprise also produces sulfuric acid, aluminum sulfate, and other chemical products.
