Starting in 2027, six of the 13 new plants for producing ultrapure metals will begin construction in Siberia as part of the Angara-Yenisei cluster creation. This was announced by Ksenia Shoigu, CEO of the Foundation for the Development of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center "Mendeleev Valley".
The main directions will be the processing of copper, molybdenum, lithium, manganese, and titanium.
The project includes the construction of a 3D printing center, the production of mining equipment, optical fiber, small-tonnage chemicals, materials for batteries, permanent magnets, accumulators, metal powders for additive manufacturing, and master alloys.
Construction of six out of 13 plants will begin as early as 2027. Construction cycles vary: some we will be able to launch quickly, while others will be in 2030 or 2031.
The investment volume is 700 billion rubles. Approximately the same amount will be allocated for energy development. Commissioning times vary: some facilities will be launched quickly, others in 2030 or 2031.
The plants themselves are being built faster than nuclear or hydroelectric power plants. Some enterprises are planned to be commissioned as early as 2028, Shoigu concluded.
