A model of the new generation small missile ship Project 22800E "Karakurt-E" in its export version was presented at the stand of the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) at the International Maritime Defense Show "Fleet-2026" in Kronshtadt. The small corvette is capable of engaging enemy targets independently and as part of a group. This was reported by the USC press service.
Project 22800E "Karakurt-E" vessels are designed to repel air attacks, combat saboteurs, search and rescue crews of ships in distress, and protect state borders.
The small corvette from the Almaz Design Bureau of USC was developed taking into account the interests of foreign customers and incorporates the latest achievements in high-precision weapons, self-defense systems, air defense, and naval shipbuilding.
Specialists from CMKB "Almaz" increased the degree of automation of technical means (all devices, instruments, and equipment ensuring the vessel's movement, vital activity, and safety) during the project's development. This improved the corvette's ergonomics and reduced the crew's workload.
The main advantages of the export "Karakurts" are high maneuverability, increased seaworthiness, and architectural and structural solutions to reduce radar visibility.
The small corvette is equipped with launchers for cruise missiles. However, the final composition of armament and equipment is approved by the customer, USC concluded.
