Since the start of the season, Muscovites and visitors to the capital have already made over 1.7 million trips on city rental bicycles and e-scooters. The "Velobike" service has grown significantly: if in 2013, 550 bicycles were available for rent, now thousands of units of transport are available in different parts of the city. Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry, revealed the details.
Interest in short routes has grown particularly. The "Per-minute" tariff, which is suitable for quick trips around the city, has been used 85,000 times since the beginning of the season, emphasized the Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
Earlier, Liksutov reported that the demand for the service is growing due to an increase in the number of bicycles and e-scooters.
This season, 9,000 e-bikes and 4,000 e-scooters are available to citizens in various districts of Moscow. Compared to 2013, when the project just started and there were 550 bicycles for rent, the fleet has grown almost 24 times.
