The first photo of the updated BMP-3 has appeared online. Apparently, the modernization of the combat vehicle did not affect key structural elements.
The combat module remained the same and inhabited. This is the classic two-man BMP-3 turret – the so-called "Bakhcha-U" combat block.
Inside the turret, the gunner and commander are still seated. It still houses the 100-mm 2A70 gun and the coaxial 30-mm 2A72 automatic cannon, as well as anti-tank guided missiles – apparently the "Kornet" complex.
In addition, the new modification of the vehicle is equipped with a frame for installing a massive EW complex.
The BMP-3 is designed to provide fire support and transport troops. However, military experts note that all the advantages of the vehicle are negated by its too weak armor.
