Kalashnikov Concern shipped a large batch of GP-34 40mm under-barrel grenade launchers as part of a state contract for 2026. Russian servicemen use the weapon in combat operations, the concern's press service reported.
The GP-34 is designed to engage personnel and unarmored vehicles. The grenade launcher is equipped with high-explosive fragmentation and thermobaric grenades. Non-lethal rounds, including illuminating and signal rounds, are used for law enforcement.
The grenade launcher has a muzzle-loading design. It provides high rate of fire, ease of loading and unloading. The GP-34 can be mounted on Kalashnikov assault rifles with a barrel length of 415 mm and the Nikonov AN-94 assault rifle. It can fire direct (to engage vertical targets) and indirect (at barrel elevation angles greater than 20°) fire.
