The Federal Industrial Development Fund (FRP) will provide SMM-Tyazhmash with a preferential loan of 82 million rubles to expand the production of portal crane movement mechanisms in the Leningrad Region. Another 16 million rubles will be allocated by the regional Entrepreneurship and Industry Support Fund, the FRP press service told "Pervy Tekhnichesky".
The company will receive federal funds at 3% per annum for the purchase of modern equipment. This will allow increasing production volumes by 75% and replacing some imported analogues. The enterprise's products are already used in the ports of Murmansk and at shipyards in the Far East.
The regional fund will provide 16 million rubles at 1% per annum for the digitalization of production. With these funds, the company will acquire a robotic welding cell. It is expected that the average annual output per employee will increase by 8%.
In March 2026, the FRP, together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, developed a mechanism to restrict the purchase of imported equipment using loans. In May 2026, portal cranes were added to the list, which should ensure additional demand for SMM-Tyazhmash products. The general director of the enterprise, Sergey Kasyanov, noted that preferential financing will strengthen technological sovereignty.
The enterprise specializes in the manufacture of equipment and metal structures for heavy lifting equipment, including design, production, quality control, painting, delivery, and installation. The portal crane movement mechanism ensures its movement along the rail track.
