Two new detectors for Hornet attack drones with Starlink terminals sent to Russian military

Mobile groups' fighters destroy drones with anti-aircraft fire

The first drone detectors capable of detecting Hornet attack drones have been handed over to Russian servicemen. This was stated by Igor Potapov, an official representative of JSC "NPP" (developer of UAV detection and counteraction systems).

As of today, there are already detectors, two have already appeared, that work against Hornet.

The detection systems "identify the signature" (recognition of an aerial object by its electronic characteristics) of this drone. The effectiveness of the new detectors can be discussed after testing, the expert added.

According to Potapov, the first versions of Hornet used conventional communication modems, so the Russian military suppressed them using electronic warfare (EW) equipment. Now, Starlink satellite communication terminals are installed on the drones. Now the only way to defeat Hornet is anti-aircraft fire, he concluded.

Engineers of JSC "NPP" have created a wide range of systems for recognizing and counteracting UAVs. Among their developments are a portable complex for monitoring the radio frequency spectrum in the 50-6000 MHz range with the function of intercepting analog FPV video "Perekhvat 2.0", the "Buckler v1" jammer, and the "Baryer" drone blocker.
