Trusted Person vs. Scammers: Yandex Pay Adds New Transfer Control

Verification is activated for payments over 10,000 rubles

Yandex Pay has introduced a transfer confirmation feature. Users can set a limit and choose a trusted person – for example, a relative who will verify transactions exceeding the specified amount.

If a transfer exceeds the limit, the trusted person will receive a notification and can confirm or reject the transaction. This mechanism is designed to help protect loved ones from fraudsters, especially in situations where a person is rushed to transfer money or is pressured.

The limit can be set for transfers to individuals starting from 10,000 rubles – by phone number or bank details. The feature works with accounts in Yandex Pay, Yandex Pro, and savings accounts "Seivy".

The company emphasizes that the new option does not replace bank antifraud but adds another layer of control. According to the Bank of Russia, in 2025, the number of operations influenced by fraudsters increased by 31.2%, and most of the money was stolen by criminals through transfers between individuals' accounts – 10.6 billion rubles.

It is not possible to disable verification instantly: changes will take effect after 24 hours. This delay is necessary in case fraudsters try to force a person to urgently lift restrictions. During this time, relatives can notice a suspicious situation and stop the transfer.

To connect the feature, both the user and the trusted person need the Yandex Pay app and the maximum level of identification. Verification can be configured in the "Operation Verification" section.
