Digital Control Panel for Education: Russia Launches Unified Monitoring System

Data will help track personnel, infrastructure, quality of education, and salaries

As of June 1, a unified digital system for monitoring indicators in the field of education has been launched in Russia. The platform will collect key data on the state of the industry and help make management decisions at federal and regional levels.

The system includes almost 800 indicators. They cover the implementation of the national project "Youth and Children", staffing, infrastructure, accessibility and quality of education, as well as salaries and workload of employees in the sector.

The new tool will allow tracking not only the current situation but also long-term changes. For this purpose, historical data from 2000 to 2015 has been added to the platform to enable analysis of educational development over several decades.

Representatives of 21 organizations, including federal ministries and agencies, participated in the system's development. During the preparation phase, more than 2,000 indicators across different levels of education were considered, from which the most significant ones were included in the final monitoring.

Access to the platform will be provided by Rosobrnadzor. The agency expects that data centralization will reduce the bureaucratic burden on educational organizations and allow for faster identification of problem areas.

According to the developers' concept, the system should become a digital control panel for education: showing where there is a shortage of personnel, how the workload is changing, how accessible the infrastructure is, and which solutions are truly effective.
