Belgorod CHPP gets rid of General Electric turbines for 6 billion rubles

The contractor will build two 25-megawatt gas turbine units for the plant

RIR ENERGO company has placed a large-scale tender for the modernization of the Belgorod CHPP "Luch". The contract amount is almost 6 billion rubles.

The contractor will have to design the plant's upgrade, and then manufacture and deliver two gas turbine units. The capacity of each is 25 megawatts.

The equipment is designed for year-round operation. It will only be stopped for maintenance, and in summer - for 14 days to conduct hydraulic tests and repair heating networks along with other CHPP equipment.

Theoretically, such equipment can be produced by ODK-Perm Motors with a serial line of GTE-25PA with a capacity of 25 MW.

Another serious player is St. Petersburg's REP Holding JSC with T25 gas turbines with a capacity of about 22.4–25 MW.

The new equipment will replace the old American General Electric LM2500 turbines that were previously used at the CHPP.
