Russia and India are holding consultations on organizing the production of the export version of the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter on Indian territory. This was reported by the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSVTS).
If the project develops, India could become the first foreign site for the localization of Russian fifth-generation fighter production.
Russia proposes to organize the production of Su-57E aircraft in India. Relevant consultations with partners are currently underway.
The FSVTS reminded that Russia and India have been cooperating in the field of armaments for more than 60 years.
During this time, India has mastered the licensed production of a number of Russian systems, including Su-30MKI fighters, T-90S tanks, AK-203 assault rifles, AK-630 naval artillery mounts, and various ammunition.
