The Indian Ministry of Defence has sent requests to three shortlisted participants for the program to create a domestic fifth-generation fighter jet. This was reported by The Economic Times.
The department was interested in the competencies of Bharat Forge-BEML, Tata Advanced Systems, and Larsen and Toubro-Bharat Electronics Limited. Interestingly, Hindustan Aeronautics was not included in the initial list.
The tender winner will begin cooperation with the Aeronautical Development Agency to create five AMCA prototypes at a new test site in Andhra Pradesh. The first prototype flight is scheduled for 2032.
In parallel, the saga continues with India's probable purchase of Su-57 fighters from Russia. Media reported that the republic made access to the source code of onboard electronics and stealth technology a condition.
